When continuous provision is thoughtfully planned and delivered, it doesn’t replace the curriculum
—
it brings it to life.

About Me
Hello, I’m Cari Dyson, founder of Continuous Provision with Mrs D.
For over 20 years, I have been teaching children through play and continuous provision, and I genuinely believe it is one of the most powerful ways children learn.
Throughout my career, I have taught across the primary age range, with the last decade specialising in Key Stage One, where I have successfully embedded continuous provision into everyday classroom practice.

My passion has always been helping children develop a lifelong love of learning through curiosity, creativity and purposeful play. I believe classrooms should be places where children feel safe to explore, investigate, collaborate, take risks and become confident, independent learners.

Alongside my classroom teaching, I now work with schools across the UK, supporting teachers, teaching assistants and school leaders to develop high-quality continuous provision that is practical, sustainable and rooted in research.

I know that introducing continuous provision can feel overwhelming. I’ve experienced the challenges, answered the difficult questions and spent years refining what works in a real Key Stage One classroom.

Today, my work reaches thousands of educators through consultancy, professional development, keynote speaking, practical teaching resources and an online community of over 60,000 teachers who share the same belief—that children learn best when they are actively engaged, challenged and inspired through play.
Whether you’re taking your very first steps into continuous provision or looking to develop an already established approach, I’d love to support your journey.

My aim is to give schools the confidence, knowledge and practical strategies they need to make continuous provision successful for every child.

Because when adults feel confident, children flourish.
And every child deserves a classroom where childhood is valued
and learning is joyful.

Whole School Continuous Provision Training
Every training session, school visit and keynote I deliver is built on real classroom experience,
not just theory.

Keynote Speaking
An inspiring keynote designed to challenge thinking, celebrate childhood and share the research behind continuous provision.
Drawing on over 20 years of classroom experience, national training and a passion for play-based learning, keynotes explore why continuous provision matters, what it looks like in practice and how schools can create classrooms where every child thrives.
Perfect for conferences, trust events, INSET days and education festivals.

Kelly Burlton
Executive Head Teacher,
Woodchurch CofE Primary &
High Halden CofE Primary School
Introducing Continuous Provision into KS1 can feel daunting, but our staff felt thoroughly prepared thanks to the clear guidance and training Cari provided. The CPD equipped our entire teaching team, from EYFS right through to Year 6 with essential knowledge on what effective Continuous Provision actually looks like and why it’s so critical for learning. The teachers left feeling inspired, confident, and practical in their approach. I couldn't recommend Cari’s training highly enough!
Roger Smith
Head Teacher,
St Marys CofE Primary School
Working with Cari completely transformed how we approach our classroom environments. Her training provided actionable, step-by-step strategies for setting up Continuous Provision that genuinely stretches and challenges the children. Our KS1 staff were initially hesitant about moving away from traditional desk-based learning, but the transition has been seamless. Pupil engagement levels have soared, and the children are far more independent in their learning.
Sophie Grosvenor
Head Teacher,
St Peters CofE Primary School
Cari’s expertise in Continuous Provision is second to none. She delivered a bespoke CPD session that perfectly bridged the gap between EYFS and KS1 pedagogy for our school. The frameworks she shared were incredibly practical, meaning our teachers could implement changes the very next day rather than just talking about theory. It’s rare to find training that leaves staff this motivated and aligned in their long-term vision.
